hiii! i'm peachie or peach gummy, a nonbinary transage individual, and a paraphile and youthlib activist in training. i like any pronouns, but it/its and neopronouns are adored too. i am chronologically an adult, but formerly a youth who had positive interpersonal, romantic, and sexual experiences with adults. i am also a zoophile, fictophile, hybristophile, autobiastophile, and masochist.
i am speaking out on the basis that i feel current laws and norms were used to keep me in an abusive situation and limit my autonomy as a youth, and that i believe these should change for the sake of youth now and for future generations to keep others from falling into similar situations. my parents actively chose not to listen to my side of the story and to emotionally abuse and isolate me for seeking out relationships with adults. other adults holding power over me chose to listen to my parents rather than me, leading to years of institionalization that were as unneccessary as they were cruel. my life was eaten away because i was treated like property, instead of someone who could choose for themself. i want parental ownership of youth to end and for youth to actually have autonomy over themselves; this includes being able to choose their living situation, who they have relationships with (sexual or not), their medical care, where they go to school or otherwise how they are educated, their diet. these are all aspects that were controlled by my parents to my detriment when i was forced to remain under their care. to this day i suffer negative mental and physical health consequences due to their decisions.
i believe that animals can have healthy romantic and sexual relationships with humans, and that they can communicate and consent to sexual interaction. but on the basis that they cannot speak, their bodily discomfort needs to be more carefully monitored; but to be honest, i think this is something that humans need to pay attention to more when having sex with other humans too. i believe that bestiality should be decriminalized and destigmatized, and focus should be set on abuse, battery, and other harm toward animals instead. this would allow for documents detailing best harm reduction practices to be created and circulated more regularly, which would create better, healthier relationships between humans and animals. sex itself is not inherently harmful, though even i will admit that there are some species one just shouldn't have intercourse with for their safety and wellbeing; but even in those cases, courtship, romantic relationships, and non-penetrative sexual acts may be viable options.
i also believe that paraphiles broadly suffer from epistemic injustice, in which our marginalization and stigmatization lead to information on us being actively suppressed. studies on pedophiles and zoophiles are often censored, and receive very little funding, leading to less and less being known about them. this fact combined with the stigma lead to paraphiles believing that they are evil for their orientations, because they have never been told otherwise. i would like to see an increased and earnest effort to study paraphiles broadly, as many of the previous ones conducted were on convicts who had abused children but may or may not have actually had a pedophilic orientation. i refuse to believe that this is appropriately representative. in a similar note, i do not believe censoring discussion of decriminalizing youth-adult and human-animal relationships is a proportional nor appropriate action to take when simply trying to avoid hosting illegal content. discussing legal changes isn't the same as posting abusive content, nor is it admitting to committing a crime. fictional outlets likewise are not the same as real-life actions.
